National Expert Commission Call for Submission

By Nov 30 (deadline to submit): Please go to the following web location and voice your comments regarding health care issues facing Canadians: http://www.cna-aiic.ca/CNA/about/nec/submissions/default_e.aspx National Expert Commission Call for Submissions CNA’s National Expert Commission is embarking on a mission to consult with Canadians across the country in the development of policy recommendations that will help transform the health-care system. The recommendations will shape health care for all Canadians, so the Commission needs to hear from a diverse group of people. Nurses, employers, union representatives, economists, business leaders and the public are all invited to participate. The commissioners welcome written briefs containing opinions and examples of research, innovations, best practices and lessons learned. The briefs should address any of the topic areas related to the Commission’s mandate and objectives, including: better health (e.g., improving individual, community and population health); better care (e.g., innovative models of care delivery, care in non-traditional settings, technology, experiences with the health-care system); better value (e.g., system financing, funding, quality and performance); care or system innovations led by or involving nurses and teams; and effective actions to address the social and environmental determinants of health. Better health, better value and better care for Canadians and the nation as a whole are incredibly expansive topics. Consider framing your feedback or submission using the following questions: What are the most pressing health challenges facing Canadians today? What do we need from nurses, other health professionals, governments and the public to address the challenges we’re facing? What can nurses do to have the greatest impact on the health outcomes of all Canadians? If you could make one change to improve the health of Canadians, what would it be?
